Alternative Provision
VLC offers therapeutic and caring alternative education for young people who are unable to access mainstream education. VLC works with children with SEN and EHCPs and those at risk of exclusion. Many of our students have been or are school refusers, and/or have attachment issues or trauma. At VLC we are committed to going the extra mile to try and support young people to get the education they deserve.
Alternative provision is usually part time or for a short period of time before students transition to another school, or back into their mainstream school. This is our bread and butter; it's what we have been doing since 2014.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum taught 1-1 or in small groups, covering the national curriculum where possible. More details on our curriculum can be found here. Our holistic approach not only focuses on students academic learning, but also students social and emotional learning, preparing students for success at adulthood and supporting the wider family alongside other professionals. We also offer various forms of therapy and offsite activities to meet students needs.
To access alternative provision, please speak to your child's school, as the first port of call.
If you would like more information on this, please do get in contact.
