How can I volunteer?
Teaching
Much of the learning at all our centres happens one-to-one. We are looking for volunteers who are able to offer time to support teaching. This could be anything from a couple of hours a month, to a few days a week, during Warwickshire term time.
Ideal volunteers have prior teaching experience, but all volunteers should have a passion for and experience of working with young people. Candidates should be willing to support the Christian ethos of the organisation.
Mentoring our students
We would love to hear from people keen to train as mentors to one or more of our students. This would involve a training program and willingness to meet with one or more of our students on a regular basis during school hours.
Art and Music
We are keen to hear from artist and musicians who could work with students on a one to one basis to increase their skills in art and music using a therapeutic approach.
Marketing and Fundraising
We are in need of people with experience in these areas to help us raise funds and to increase awareness of our work.
Behind the scenes
We are looking for volunteers who are able to offer time to support with VLC behind the scenes – that’s everything from producing resources, quality assurance and compliance, training, finance and fundraising. Volunteering behind the scenes could be anything from a couple of hours a month, to a few days a week, during Warwickshire term time. Perhaps as part of a company CSR scheme?
All volunteers should have a passion for enabling young people to reach their potential and should be willing to support the Christian ethos of the organisation.

FAQs
How old do I have to be?
There is no age requirement and our students greatly benefit from working with people of all ages and backgrounds. However, it is worth remembering that most of our students are between 11 and 16 years old.
Can I stop volunteering?
Yes! We understand that as a volunteer your circumstances may change, and volunteering with us is not for everyone. If this happens we just ask that you let us know so that we can celebrate your time with us and find out how we could improve the volunteer experience for others.
Where can I volunteer?
We have centres in Leamington, Cubbington and Stratford. Our office is based at St Margaret's Church Centre in Whitnash. We can be flexible to give you the opportunity to volunteer at the best location for you.
Do you accept everyone?
No. We have to feel that you are a great fit for this kind of work and of course there are a series of checks in the application process for safeguarding purposes.
Still got questions?
If you’d like to find out more, please do get in contact.
VLC is committed to safeguarding our children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure via the DBS.
