What’s it like to work at VLC? We’re passionate about our mission to change the lives of young people through education and care. VLC is founded upon Christian values of care, perseverance, respect, belonging, integrity and helping others which affects all we do with students and staff. We really care about what we do and go above and beyond in our work.
In the same way that we seek to transform the lives of our students with education and care, we seek to transform the lives of staff with caring, empowering, meaningful and positive employment. We want all members of the VLC community to grow in their passion for learning, through an encouraging and positive environment.
You'll be joining the latest chapter of VLC’s story. Since day one, we've been an organisation passionate about changing the lives of young people, and we are excited to see where the new Chapter takes us.

And of course you have the reward of seeing lives changed!
What we look for... As a general rule, we don't recruit roles, we recruit people. We’re looking for people who are committed to the aims, ethos and values of VLC. Our people must be willing to flex to accommodate the different and unique needs of each of our students. We want people who can be flexible and think creatively in order to overcome problems. We want people who are committed to supporting our young people where they're at. We look for people who say ‘we can’ and not ‘we can’t’, and who work as a team, going the extra mile, to bring about the best possible outcomes for our students. Whilst we’ve been around for ten years, there are problems that occur that we haven’t come across before, but we’re committed to working things out.
VLC is committed to safeguarding our children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure via the DBS.
